2011 Nissan Juke Breaks Cover

Nissan has released the first official photos of its new Juke, a compact crossover will formally debut at Geneva in early March and turn up here later in month at the New York Auto. As hinted at in its earlier teaser image, the Juke’s exterior styling boldly goes where no other competitor has dared to, [...]

Repo’d Nissan GT-R up for auction

Here’s your chance to put Godzilla in your driveway for a discount! Of course, this GT-R that’s headed for the block at Matley’s Richmond Auto Auction today in Virginia will likely not go for much of a discount. Barring a transmission that’s been launch-controlled into oblivion, this 3,011-mile repo-special appears virtually showroom-fresh. Carfax says this [...]

Nissan skipping SEMA this year, Mazda limiting presence

Participation at last year’s SEMA show was notable for its absences, with the event’s organizers struggling at the last minute to fill vacated floor space with companies that would have normally been shunned to the outer regions of the Las Vegas Convention Center. As the economic melt-down continues, last year’s trend has extended from parts [...]

Nissan’s MX-5 competitor is coming, only it’s not

AutoExpress - the automotive equivalent of the Weekly World News - is reporting through its usual unnamed sources that Nissan plans (again) to revive the 200SX/240SX with an all-new, rear-wheel drive model aimed at the Mazda MX-5. Styled through a combination of the Urge concept that debuted at the Detroit Auto Show in 2007 and [...]

Rumormill: Nissan 370Z Hybrid for 2011?

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

We’re expecting Infiniti to launch its first hybrid sometime in either 2010 or 2011, likely based on the M35 luxury sedan. Unlike past hybrids from Nissan, parent company of the Infiniti brand, this new technology will not be a licensed version of Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive. Interestingly, reports out of Japan indicate that this new hybrid tech could filter on down the line to find itself under the shapely hood of Nissan’s new 370Z.

If these rumors are accurate, expect the fuel-saving sports car to be equipped with a lithium ion battery from corporate partner NEC that feeds power to a lone electric motor sandwhiched between the Z’s 3.7-liter VQ V6 engine and transmission. The dual-headed powertrain is reportedly expected to achieve 35 miles per gallon on the mixed cycle, though those are likely Japanese figures that don’t often jive with U.S. EPA numbers.

Spy Shots: 2011 Nissan GT-R spotted testing at Nürburgring?

One way to win races is to bury the pedal and never lift. It would appear Nissan may be following the same plan with the development of its GT-R. Rather than sit around and let the car’s development go cold, Nissan is continuing to refine its bargain supercar slayer.

Nürburgring watchers have noticed a seemingly base model GT-R lapping the track lately. There’s camo on the front and rear fascias - somewhat strange for a car that’s been released for public consumption - so the folks at gtrblog took a closer look.

While it may look innocuous enough, the latest GT-R o be snapped on its German vacation has aerodynamic pieces that are subtly different, leading gtrblog to come to the conclusion that this is probably thee 2011 version of Nissan’s Godzilla. Thanks for the tip, Jim!

Nissan announces 2010 Armada pricing and new Murano 360 value package

The economy sucks, so no one’s buying new cars. Gas prices are low, though, so filling up the cars you have isn’t the ritual blood sacrifice that took place every time you pulled up to the pump last summer. Under normal financial circumstances, this actually wouldn’t be a bad time to release the latest versions of your pricey, jumbo-sized, V8-powered fuel-swiller. These aren’t normal circumstances, though, and since product cycles are merciless and blind to current events, Nissan is stuck releasing the 2010 Armada in May anyway. There’s the standard SE trim (base price: $37,210 to $42,810) of course, and the 2010 Nissan Armada adds enhanced precious-metal nomenclature with Titanium (base price:$42,140 to $44,940) and Platinum (base price: $49,390 to $52,190) special editions. Reshuffled content in each model apparently represents better value than similarly-equipped trucks from last year. The same goes for the new 2010 Nissan Murano “360° Value Package” ($33,280 to $34,880), which bundles a bunch of popular featuresinto the Murano SL. Full details on both rides are in the exhaustingive press release pasted after the jump.
